A bad day made better. I’m an ex New Smyrna Beach resident and recently returned for my brothers memorial service. On that day after the service our family gathered at the new Flagler Avenue location and the food and the service was a welcome break from an otherwise very sad day. All to often when any restaurant opens a new location, it doesn’t measure up to the original. This is definitely not the case with the “new” Clancy’s. Good job guys!! — Joseph Neves,

A great place to meet friends! Clancy’s Cantina serves up good food, good drinks, and a good atmosphere. It is large enough to accommodate groups, and we enjoy meeting with friends there. The food is very good and If you get a chance to stop by on St. Patrick’s Day you will be surprised to find a traditional corned beef and cabbage special on the menu. Clancy’s recently moved to a new location on Flagler Avenue and it is a beautiful location just off the beach. — D.T.,

Absolutely the best Mexican Food in New Smyrna Beach! — Dirk, Merchant Circle

After trying to visit DJ’s Burrito bar and finding it closed, we stumbled on this gem on Flagler. They serve unlimited chips with a mild but tasty salsa. I had the pork enchiladas with a verde sauce. The meat was tender and extremely flavorful, the accompanying beans and rice was equally delicious. My girlfriend had the chicken burrito which was filled with strips of grilled chicken. Very pleasant wait staff, service was great even on a fairly busy week night. We were too stuffed to order dessert to our dismay. Would frequent again given the opportunity. — Todd S.,

Best Mexican restaurant EVER! I absolutely ADORE this place. EVERYTHING tastes SO delicious, from appetizers to main entrees, to salads… gosh. I wish I could live in New Smyrna Beach forever so I get to dine at this restaurant a bit more often. Highlight of my vacation, definitely. If I ever get the chance to visit New Smyrna Beach on any occasion, I will DEFINITELY go to Clancy’s Cantina again!! If you like Mexican food, you HAVE to go to this place. A bit expensive, but other than that, no excuse. Amazing. I loved their shrimp fajita. Just, go! — Lilly B.,

Clancy’s has always been my favorite restaurant!! Even now that I live in GA, every time I am home, I simply must go have a Margarita Special!!! I would recommend it to anyone! Good luck in the new location… I hope there’s plenty of parking! — Lindsey Squire, Facebook

Clancy’s is five star all the way. Great food & staff. The new location is better than ever. A must stop if you are in the New Smyrna Beach area for lunch or dinner. — Jerry Staples, Facebook

Clancy’s is pretty good… it has the best food in New Smyrna Beach. Love the chips and queso. — Guest, Yahoo Travel

Clancy’s is the Real Deal I first went to New Smyrna Beach in November 2006, so mostly locals were around at that time. Several people said to try Clancy’s so I did – it’s a definite find. I now make it a habit to go there once or twice whenever I’m in town. I ordered Grouper Mexicana the first time – it was so good I usually get it every time now, but the fish tacos and steak burrito are also very good. Good kids menu too. They must be pretty popular, so one time when I was in line I asked the hostess about the restaurant. She said that it’s been family owned for over 20 years. There’s an eclectic mix of people and decorations (surfers and families, surf boards and pictures of famous Irish writers on the wall) which makes it fun to hang out and talk to people. Good service, free chips and salsa. Great not to have to go to a chain… — Lynker,

Excellent Steak and Black Bean Quesadilla! We always go to Clancy’s when we come to New Smyrna Beach. We went on our first night in town and it was great. Free nachos were fantastic. I had a steak and black bean Quesadilla and I added pineapple and it was fabulous. I want to go back before we leave. Only disappointment was that they were out of Pina Colada mix! — A.M.,

Good Mexican Atmosphere! Love the salsa and guacamole. — NSB Guest, Yahoo Travel

Gotta Love Clancy’s! — Tara Kotch, Facebook

Great food and atmosphere. Their seating looking out at the street is splendid. When you go in, ask for Erin because she delivers the best service and is super sweet. — Bob,

Great food for a great price. Chips ‘n salsa are perfect! Love the pulled chicken tacos. — Jamie D.,

Great food! First off, I don’t really go for Mexican food very often, and then certainly not while at the beach, and furthermore not to one that sounds like it maybe Irish/Mexican infusion cooking… But, I would go back to this place in a heartbeat. Simply the best, most flavorful Mexican food I have EVER had. Give it a shot! — chefpatissier,

Great new location. Looking forward to coming back. — Mark Willey,

Great place!!! Love the new location, perfect spot! Food is still GREAT. Busy on Friday & Saturday nights but worth the wait. Try the burger for lunch, the English muffin is a nice change from a bun. Hard to believe this was a grocery store when I was a kid. Great job decorating… love the murals! — Michelle,

I eat here often and I’m never disappointed. Service, food and price are all excellent. The Carne Asada is as good as it gets. — Marco Molo,

Mexican food & live music! Fish tacos are the best. — Keith, Merchant Circle

My favorite place to eat in NSB!! Clancy’s is by far my favorite place to eat in New Smyrna Beach. I have lived here my entire life and have been going to Clancy’s with my family and friends since I can remember. It is an awesome environment to hang out with friends after a long day of surf, or a fun dinner with your family. The food is amazing and the people are the best. You can’t beat Clancy’s. — NSB Local,

No doubt about it, Clancy’s is a fun place, with its funky decor and the overall atmosphere is enhanced by the different rooms being separated by columns and arches instead of walls. The wait staff is friendly and the food presentation is nice. — Guest,

Our family’s favorite restaurant! — Guest,

Outstanding Food! Black Bean and Steak Burrito is the greatest. Endless supply of Chips and Salsa. — Guest, Yahoo Travel

Rehearsal Dinner at Clancy’s was WONDERFUL!!! We had a rehearsal dinner at Clancys Cantina on June 11, 2010 for 55 people. It was wonderful!! The servers were so friendly and no ones drinks were ever empty!! We had a buffet set up! First was the appetizers- we had steak and chicken quesadillas! delicious!!! My favorite were the fried mushrooms- I know this is a Mexican restaurant but it was a BIG hit!! For dinner we had a buffet of chicken, steak & Mai Mai fajitas! They put out a tray of Chicken with peppers and onions, a tray of steak with peppers and onions, and a tray of blackened Mai! Everything was so fresh and hot!! Plenty of food – we never ran out of a thing!! They put out soft and hard shell tacos and the BEST rice and beans with all the trimmings – lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole… The food was fabulous!! Delicious!! People could make a fajita or a fish taco or a salad – It was perfect!! The owner, Matt, was so helpful with planning the party!! He also made sure all tables had chips, salsa and bar nuts!! Everyone enjoyed themselves so much! It was such a fun celebration with excellent food and excellent service! Thanks Clancy’s for a wonderful night! We will be back and so will lots of our guest! Everyone loved it!!! — Guest,

Sooooo Glad! I am so glad Clancy’s moved to Flagler Avenue! Just when you think something can’t get any better, Clancy’s proves that is soooo not true! Their staff is friendly and the service is excellent! Their food is flavorful and fresh, and they have such a huge selection of entrees, and it’s just not Mexican food only, so everyone in our party (of 9) had choices! The Best!! — narnia456,

The best! Great value and great food. Don’t leave without getting a margarita! — Susan Keaveney Walker,

The Clancy’s family has been in New Smyrna Beach forever, we have grown up together & they are a terrific bunch. The restaurant is always a favorite. — Guest, Yahoo Travel

This is the BEST Mexican food around!!!! Great owners, great atmosphere – it doesn’t get any better. — Kim Weatherspoon, Facebook

This is the best restaurant in town. The staff is great… food is excellent. — Heidi Lynn Hales-Eldridge, Facebook

We ate there for the first time last night and the fish tacos were great. The beer selection is very good and draft beer was between $2 and $3 when we were there which is a big plus. I would definitely go back because the food put Clancy’s above others. — N.D.,

We enjoyed our lunch here. The portions are big. The place was clean and it’s in a great location on Flagler Ave. It’s not on the beach, but a nice walk to the beach after dinner. — irishpeach,

We went there twice during our trip to New Ssmyrna Beach. They have a better location now right on Flagler Avenue. The new location is roomy, the ambiance is nice, and the food is quite good. — Ross,

While visiting friends in New Smyrna Beach we decided to eat at Clancy’s. They are regulars, but it was my first time. We had a party of six adults and two kids. Once we were seated, we were taken care of pretty well. Our server brought us chips and salsa right away and took our drink orders. The margaritas came quick, and the beers took a couple minutes longer. The chips and salsa was great. The staff was very friendly and prompt.

I had a strawberry margarita which was really yummy and was full of yummy, sweet strawberries. For an entree I had the fish tacos because I had heard so much about them. I liked that they were simple, and I liked that they offered the option of having seared tuna. Big plus. My husband ordered the enchiladas verde and liked it a lot. One of the girls in our party ordered the chalupa which was expected it to be more like a taco, but she liked it all the same. The kids seemed to love the cheese quesadilla, so try it if you are looking to satisfy those little picky eaters.

Overall, it’s another good Mexican restaurant. I have had better and I have had worse. If I knew someone in the area looking for good Mexican food at a decent price, Clancy’s would be my recommendation. (Review summarized for length.) — Jacqueline F.,

YUM! I’ve been coming to Clancy’s for years and I’ve never been disappointed. This is THE place in New Smyrna Beach for good and cheap Mexican food. I recently had a steak and black bean Quesadilla that was to DIE for. I will say there are usually loud crowds- especially on weekend nights. But the decor is cheerful and it’s even better when they have live music. Hmmm – I think I’m craving some Mexican! — Annabelle,

Yummy For My Tummy! This was our first experience at Clancy’s and we would definitely go back again. The food is good and different from other places.
There is a dining area away from the bar, which is where we sat. I had the Carnitas which were good, different and had a nice taste – hubby had the Seafood Enchilada and, Holy Moly, too good for words. The portions were huge with rice and beans and the enchilada was oozing shrimp and scallops! That’s what I am having next time!! When the chips and salsa comes to the table ask for the hot salsa – very, very good. Prices are average – $30 for the two of us without apps or desert. We were full and satisfied and didn’t find the portions small at all. Thumbs up!
